Captains.
If you are entering tournaments or playing in our league, your players do need to be registered to BSF (info in the captains pack Pippa sent out) and to be a member of the Leeds Softball Association as we pay the insurance for you to play.
I think they can be registered to other teams in other leagues, or registered to an independent team (I think but haven’t checked, this may be changing with the individual BSF registration they are asking for this year).
BSF are going to ask us as a league to verify players names and that we agree they are registered to the team they say they are. Teams are being required to use their BSF registration when registering for tournaments, as these things are all being checked. They are usually (but not guaranteed to be) somewhat generous if it is a new player for 1 tournament, but they are not so relaxed about players that just pop up and aren’t rookies and aren’t registered.
Please ask your players to fill in both registrations – the BSF one and the LSA one ASAP (1st May).
Apply for hardship support if required, or donate to it if you want, but please don’t ignore it and bolster rosters with uninsured players.
